Linda Hills Parker

July 22, 1946 - April 23, 2009
Linda Hills Parker

Linda Hills Parker, 62 of Wilmington passed away April 23, 2009 surrounded by family after a long courageous battle with cancer.

She was born in New York on July 22, 1946 to Wesley and Synnove Hills who preceded her in death.

Linda is survived by her longtime companion Charles E. Rice, III, his family, and her son Michael A. Parker of Portland, Oregon.

As per Linda’s request there will be no formal memorial service. Please use your time, talents and energy to champion a cause or help someone in need.

Although we will deeply miss her, we rejoice that Linda is home with our Awesome God, singing and dancing. She was honored to carry on God’s word and lovingly ministered to and supported those around her. She was steady in her quest to walk closely with Christ and to carry out any “bump” she received from God. She was concerned about those she loved and those whom she had just met, and would pray for ways to bless them and to minister to their needs. Linda was truly one of those who could find beauty in the simplest of things and loved to cheer on God’s glory. Her main concern with all things was to honor God above all things. This love she was filled with manifest itself by creating very special and strong relationships with people who will forever be blessed to have been a part of her life. We will miss her passion, her laugh, her long conversations, and are grateful for the many memories.

Please no flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401 who provided a safe passage for Linda through the final phase of her life here on Earth.

    Chris Wellman says:
Linda was a blessing to my mother, Doris Avery, during her last few months of life. When visiting, they would take time to read scripture and pray. My Mother always talked about how Linda was a person of substance. I remember Linda having this calm peaceful spirit and always concerned for those in need. She is living large now and reaping all the good works she did on earth.
