Lisa Ann Hall

Memorial Gifts & Donations

Lisa Ann Hall passed away unexpectedly on June 16th, 2023 at the age of 64 in her home in Wilmington, North Carolina. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend who will be missed by many. Lisa is survived by her only daughter Kayla and her beloved five-year-old grandson, Jackson, as well as her loving brother, Wayne (Christine, Cassie, Rebecca) and loving sister, Allison (Dennis, Colin, Quinn, Charlotte). She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Jack and Charlotte Hall.

Born on March 3rd, 1959 in Queens, New York, Lisa was raised with her younger siblings on Long Island. As a young girl she enjoyed marching in many parades as a baton twirler. Lisa loved growing up in a neighborhood surrounded by her close friends who felt like family. She was still in touch with many of them, especially Donna, who was still one of Lisa’s best friends 60 years later. Some of her fondest memories of childhood were over a decade of yearly trips to Myrtle Beach with families from the neighborhood. She went on to graduate from Walt Whitman High School in Huntington, NY with the Class of 1977. After spending a year at SUNY Oswego College, she graduated from Suffolk Community College.

She worked at Fidelity National Information Services for nearly thirty years, making life-long friendships. She loved getting together with her co-workers, some of whom turned into her best friends. After moving to Wilmington, she worked as a caregiver at Visiting Angels. Her kind, gentle nature made her a perfect fit as a companion.

Lisa’s life brimmed with the people, places, and things she loved. She enjoyed visiting and keeping up with her nieces and nephews’ lives. She was so proud of all of their accomplishments over the years. She cherished her days at Montauk, Wrightsville and Kure Beach. She enjoyed traveling with her family – especially her cousin, Coleen – and took several cruises over the years, her favorite being Aruba. Lisa loved social gatherings, especially spending time with family and friends – genuine interest in their lives flowed through any conversation with her. She was admired as an exceptionally easy person to talk to and get along with; you were always guaranteed to have a great time in her presence. Her smile and laugh was infectious!

Whether going to the movies with friends or watching tv shows/movies with family, Lisa’s favorite pastimes frequently doubled as anopportunity to connect with the people she loved. One of her favorite card games was Argentine Rummy with her cousin Coleen and drinking gimlets – just like their moms used to do. She also enjoyed playing Bunco with her sister Allison for many years in a place where she made great friends. She was the ultimate ‘dog person’ her entire life (a trait she no doubt passed on to both Kayla and Jackson) and a fashionista (just like her mom Charlotte) with a love for scarves and jewelry.

Family meant everything to Lisa; she loved her daughter Kayla fiercely, and her grandson Jackson was the light of her life. She was so happy to be able to attend his school events, including Jackson’s first violin concert, field day and Pre-K graduation. As Jackson’s Mimi, caregiver and best friend, the pair enjoyed playing games, going to the park, and lots of trips to different aquariums. He loved seeing her car pull up or surprise pick ups at the bus stop. They had weekly sleepovers that always included “the best bacon ever”. Jackson was spoiled with love and Lisa (Mimi) was truly his favorite person.

A GoFundMe page has been set up for future expenses and care of her grandson Jackson.

I have know Lisa for many years we used to work together at Savings Bank Trust company in Manhattan and took the Long Island Railroad every day together from Huntington Station. Lisa was sweet, funny and so much fun to be around a true friend. I will never forget our Happy Hours at the Blarney Stone and all those crazy commutes together. Over the years we kept in touch through facebook and I got to see how she loved her adorable grandson Jackson so much. Prayers for Wayne, Kayla, Allison and Jackson. She will be missed but she is in a better place. Rest in Peace my friend.
