Lisa Jayne Budd

Lisa Jayne Kurki Budd, 51, died on November 10, 2009, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on January 10, 1958 in Philadelphia, PA, Lisa lived in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, until the mid-1980’s when she followed the sun to be with her family in Fort Lauderdale. It was in Fort Lauderdale that she gave birth to her beloved son, Adam Budd, and met her best friend and loving husband, Scot Fowler.

She worked for many years at Bell South/AT&T in South Florida and considered her dear friends from Bell South/AT&T to be part of her extended family.

Lisa loved life, worshipped the sun and never let grass grow under her feet. Her world revolved around Adam, the true love of her life, and she happily made Wilmington their new home five years ago to be near to family.

Preceded in death by her father, Harry Kurki, Lisa is survived by her son, Adam Budd; her husband, Scot Fowler; her mother, Dorothy Kurki; her sister, Allison Ward and husband, Stuart Ward; her brother, Peter Kurki and wife, Mary Kurki; and her nieces and nephews, Luke and Jennifer (JJ) Ward and Morgan and Jensen Kurki.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 12, from 6 – 8 pm at Wilmington Burial and Cremation Services, 1535 S. 41st Street.
