Lisa Michele Williams 44, of Wilmington lost her battle with cancer Saturday July 12, 2014.

Lisa was born on July 16, 1969 the daughter of John and Valerie Williams who reside in Raleigh. She was known for her calm, quiet demeanor, quick wit, kindred spirit & charisma. A graduate of ECU, earned a master of Library Science from NCCU, Master of Arts & Liberal Studies from UNCW. She was Associate Director of Library Science, Randall Library, UNCW. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, traveling, movies, & the beach.

Also surviving in addition to her parents are a sister Tracy Williams of Wilmington and her cockatiel Ernie.

A graveside funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Friday July 18, 2014 at Maplewood Cemetery, Wilson.

A celebration of Lisa’s life and Reception will be held 3:00 to 5:00pm on Saturday July 19, 2014 at Wilmington Funeral Chapel.

Flowers are welcome or donations may be made in Lisa’s honor to UNCW-Randall Library, online www.uncw.edu/give or mailed to Advancement Services.

    The Executive Board for the North Carolina Library Association joins so many other friends and colleagues in celebrating Lisa's life and in mourning her passing. She was a loyal and active member of our professional organization and her work and her spirit will be missed by all of us.
