Memorial Gifts & Donations

Beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Loretta Jane Skinner, went to be with God and her precious sister Marlyn Stewart on April 25, 2017.

Loretta was born on August 19, 1936 in Princeton, Missouri, although she was a Texas girl at heart. She lived in Raymondville, Texas for most of her young life where she met the love of her life Charles R. Skinner who she married on December 30, 1956. The newlyweds lived in Bryan, Texas where Bob graduated from Texas A&M University and received a commission in the U.S. Air Force. Loretta flourished as an air force wife and was instrumental in keeping the home fires burning during Bob’s overseas deployments and assignments. Loretta had a love of travel and a tremendous talent for planning, organization, and creativity. She approached life with humor, wit, and undying devotion to her family. Upon Bob’s retirement from the air force, Loretta pursued a successful career as a real estate broker in Charlottesville, Virginia. She loved finding just the right home for new families, and she excelled at it.

Loretta was a loving mom to daughters Ginny Skinner Chilcott (Craig) and Donna Skinner Vaudrin (Larry) and was adored as “Nana” by her four grandchildren: Donna Chilcott Harrington (Matt), Ryan Michael Vaudrin, Catie Paige Chilcott, and Kristen Nichole Vaudrin.

Loretta loved her family well, and she lived an extraordinary life. Rest in peace with the angels you loved, dear Nana. You will be missed.

A memorial service is scheduled for 3:00 PM Friday, April 28, 2017 at Wilmington Funeral Chapel.
