Lorraine Leonard, 83, of Castle Hayne, NC, went to be with Jesus, family and friends on Monday November 5, 2012 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice surrounded by her family.
Lorraine was born on April 12, 1929 in Ash, N.C. to the late Murdic John Jones and Ezzie Phillips Jones.
Lorraine was a long time member of Faith Freewill Baptist Church of Leland, NC. She worked for many years at Blocks Shirt Factory and she was owner and operator of Leland Grocery until 1987.
She was proceeded in death other than her parents by, her husband of 34 years, Harold Eugene Leonard Sr.; daughter, Carolyn Caton ; two sisters Mildred Hewett and Allene Carlyle.
She leaves behind one son, Harold Eugene Leonard Jr.,(Brenda) of Castle Hayne; two daughters Marilyn Grice ( Herbie) of Wilmington and Rose Watkins (David) of Leland; one brother Hilton Jones ( Eloise) of Wilmington; 6 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 1:00pm to 2:00pm on Thursday November 8, 2012 at Wilmington Funeral Chapel followed by a Graveside Service at Greenlawn Memorial Park with Pastor Jerry Sizemore officiating.
Pallbearers will be Kenny Jones, Karen Grice, D.J. Watkins, David Benton, Gary Jones and Josh Jones.
The family would like to thank Dr. Rudyk and Hospice for the love and care they gave our mother during her illness.
