Dear Parrish and April, I cannot even imagine how hard this past year has been on you both. Dennis and I have thought of you often and prayed for your dad a lot. My first reaction was, "he finally feels good now." Dennis' was "he fought so hard and did it well for so long." I know Mike left his pain behind with his body and his heart with you. You, Parrish were the one thing that made him truely happy. Even though things have been so very difficult for you, know you are continuing to make him so happy and proud of you! We will all miss him so much!!! Good friends are hard to find and Mike was a great friend and he will never be forgotten. Please let us know if you need anything at all. We will always be here for you. Our deepest condolences and all our love to you and your family, Dennis, Christie, & Hayden Harang

    Betsy Blee says:
Parrish, I really loved your dad and we shared a passion for the sea. We spent many many hours on weekends during High School in the waters off Topsail Island surfing, and went to the East Coast Championships in Va Beach. More recently we spent time on the water in a boat on the Cape Fear River. In the middle we connected and went boating on th4e Hudson River during his trips to NY with Lee. A few years ago he was so generous with his time helping my sister and brother in law during their family illnesses. He was a great guy with a big heart and never expected anything in return. His giving was a gift to all. He is going to be missed by me and his many friends, but not forgotten. May you find comfort now your father is resting in peace.

Parrish; While we have only met on a few occations, I know how much your Dad loved you and how very proud he was of you. Your Dad was my best friend. From meeting him in the 6th grade as a short, left-handed point guard who could shoot the lights out and more importantly, feed me, to being my best man, to providing me with a little tough love when I needed it as an adult friend. Please know he fought a helluva fight. Never have I met a man with a bigger heart.
