Lucille Gillette Glunt was born In Otter Creek, Florida on December 20, 1933. She attended DeLand High School. She was a member of Brookfield Church of God and later Wrightsville Avenue Church of God. “Lucy” retired from Marpac Electronics Corporation in 2002 after 25 years of employment. Lucy volunteered at The Cape Fear Center for Inquiry reading to children. Reading was one of her many loves. She loved music, singing, dancing at the Yellow Rose and above all else spending time with her family.
She is preceded in death by her father James Ivey Gillette and mother Louise Lord Gillette. Also a sister Maxine. Surviving to tell her wonderful story are her two brothers Russel Gillette (Nancy), Harold Gillette (Louise) and a sister Marlene Carroll (Jackie). She is also survived by her children Linda English, Sharon Tripp, Deidre Ross Glunt and Daniel Glunt (Patti). 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Along with nieces and nephews.
She spoke so often about her childhood with her brothers and sister and when you she started you knew the story would always end in laughter. She had an infectious smile and even more infectious laugh. Her kind heart and ever giving soul will be missed greatly by everyone. We are only afforded a few angels in our lives and she will forever be ours. Rest well Mom, we love and miss you.
Graveside services will be Friday May 25, 2018 1:00pm at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
