Luther Morris Weeks, age 69, died at his home on Friday, June 25, 2010.

He was born in Wilmington on January 18, 1941 and was the son of Catherine Russ Weeks. He was preceded in death by his father Morris Caldwell Weeks and son Michael Shannon Weeks.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his son Theodore Morris Weeks, granddaughter Brooke Weeks, both of Wilmington and sisters and caregivers Jo Etta and Cassie Weeks of the home, Libby Johnson and family of Cleveland, Tenn., Susie Wells and family of Burgaw, lifelong friend Ronnie Fowler and family and friend Sammy Brown.

He attended New Hanover High School and served in the United States Navy. Until his disability, most of his career was spent as a contractor in the telecommunications industry. He was an avid fisherman and his most enjoyable times were spent in the Inland Waterway.

Services will be private.
