Lydia Mueller Davis age 86 of Wilmington passed away on Thursday June 21, 2018 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCareCenter.
She was born in Stuttgart, Germany to the late Wilheim and Rosa Mueller.
Lydia was a Civil Service employee at Ft. Bragg, NC with Military Intelligence during the Vietnam War as a Cartographer for bombing zones. Later she worked at the US Army Corps of Engineers in Wilmington in drafting and design until her retirement.
Lydia was a strong minded woman as she was , she also knew that God had blessed her with a wonderful life. She was surely a virtuous woman who gave so much and expected so little in return.
She was the widow of George S. Davis, Sr. and is survived by a son, George S. Davis, Jr. of Florence, SC, and daughter Petra Davis Langston of Wilmington; grandchildren, Matthew Langston, Kristen Davis, and Laura Tassi; great grandchildren Hailey and Sean Leonard, Julianna Tassi; and special niece Evelyn (Bob) Shirley of Canada
A memorial service will be held 3 pm Sunday, July 1, 2018 at Long Leaf Baptist Church by Rev. Joshua Reilly. Her urn will be placed to rest with the beloved and missed husband at the Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, NC at a later time.
A special thank you to Dr. Johnathan Hines and his devoted healthcare team, and the members of the team at Lower Cape Fear Hospice.
