Macon Bryant Council 75, of Wilmington passed away Sunday July 12, 2015 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

Macon was born in Wake County June 10, 1940 the son of the late Melvin and Lottie Penny Council. He was employed for 32 years with CP&L now Duke Energy in the Sub-station Maintenance division. His Co-Workers at CP&L nicked named him “Goat”. He was a past master of Charles B. Newcomb #740 AF&AM Masonic Lodge in Raleigh. He spent his younger years in the North Carolina National Guard. In 2003 he and his wife of 55 years retired to Wilmington to be with their family.

Surviving are his wife Pat Mundy Council, daughter Amy Long and husband Chris, grandson Parker all of Wilmington. His sister-in-law Jeannean Herman and husband Gary of Raleigh. Niece Laura Clark and nephew David Herman, Cousin Christa Herndon of Apex.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Wednesday at Ogden Baptist Church. Burial will be 11:00 AM Thursday at Montlawn Memorial Park, in Raleigh. Reverend Danny Justice will officiate the service.

The family will see friends 5:00 – 7:00 PM Tuesday afternoon at Wilmington Funeral Chapel.

For the Apex & Raleigh family and friends,the family will see friends From 10:00 AM Thursday until service time at Montlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Raleigh.

In Lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to the American Cancer Society or to the American Heart Association.
