Mae Ann Rising Wilkins 81, of Wilmington, NC went to be with her Heavenly Father on Monday March 20, 2023 at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare.

Mae Ann was born in Wilmington, NC on March 7, 1942 to the late William A. and Alberta M. Rising. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Marion Lee Wilkins; son Terry Lee Wilkins; daughters Teresa Lynn Lineberry and Tina Marie Railey; brother William (Billy) Rising; sister Barbara D. Hollar.

Mae Ann is survived by her daughter-in-law Carissa Wilkins, son-in-law’s Haywood Lineberry and Tracy Railey four grandchildren, Kevin A. McCausley, Cory M. Railey, Jacob Lineberry and Mason E. Wilkins, and two great-grandchildren, Colton Allen McCausley and Braylen Jacob Lineberry. She also leaves behind a special niece, Jewel Anne McIntyre and husband Randy and several special friends, Jewel Bordeaux, Christy Bordeaux Pat Mintz, Pam Railey, Madilyn Chadwick, Donna Ogden, Denise Kiley, Gail Short and many more.

Her family wishes to thank the staff of Lower Cape Fear Hospice; Dr. Kim Martin; Dr. Lance Lewis and Dr. Kenneth Kotz who gave her special care during her battle with heart disease and lung cancer. She fought a long and courageous battle for several years.

She had a special love for her three little dogs Benny; Harley and Chloe whom she loved very much.

A memorial service will be conducted 3:00 PM Saturday March 25, 2023 at Wilmington Funeral Chapel.

The family suggest memorials be directed to Lower Cape Fear Hospice 1414 Physician Drive Wilmington, NC 28401.
