Memorial Gifts & Donations

Margaret Helen Leon passed away Saturday, October 11, 2014 at the age of 103.

Margaret was born in Baltimore, Maryland December 6, 1910 to the late George and Abigail Breyer.

She had a long and happy marriage of 80 years with her husband, William A. Leon, who predeceased her in 2011.

She was a loving and devoted mother to her two daughters, Gail
Leon, of Brevard and Gloria Kidd and her husband, Reg, of Leland.

Her career with the C&P Telephone Company lasted 34 years as a telephone operator.

Margaret was a devoted Christian who believed that her longevity and long marriage was attributable to God’s Grace. She was a vibrant, generous and kind individual who touched the lives of
many who admired and were inspired by her zeal for living. She will be sorely missed but her spirit will remain with those lives she touched.

The family would like to take this opportunity to thank our devoted friends and the many kind people we encountered through the years in churches, restaurants, and stores. Also, we are forever grateful to the many doctors and staff who cared for her through the years
and especially Dr. Linda Calhoun, her cardiologist, who never gave up on mother’s will to live.

A memorial service will be held at Wrightsville United Methodist Church Wednesday October 22, 2014 at 2:00 PM.

Margaret will be buried with her beloved husband in the Lorraine Park Cemetery in Baltimore, Maryland

    Kayla says:
Hi my name is Kayla and I am a local bible teacher. I am so sorry for the loss of your loved one. There is a very comforting scripture at Isaiah 25:8. It says that soon Jehovah will swallow up death forever and that he will wipe away all of the tears. So we can all look forward to a time when death will be no more. I hope that this scripture can bring some true comfort during these difficult times.
