Margaret Jean Satterwhite, age 72 of Wilmington, NC, peacefully passed away at Novant Health/New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington on July 14, 2022 after a sudden illness.
Margaret Jean was born on August 18, 1949 to the late Walter and Mary Elizabeth Satterwhite in Henderson, NC. Jean graduated from Sun Valley High School in Aston, PA. She raised her family in the Henderson area and recently retired to Wilmington after a 36-year career with Revlon.
Beloved by her family, Jean is survived by her daughter Melissa Watson of Boulder, CO, her son Jeremy John Watson, of Raleigh, NC, sisters Lisa Southerland (William) of Wilmington and Virginia Satterwhite of Raleigh, NC, brother Billy Satterwhite (Tabitha) of Henderson, grandchildren Pvt. Devin Ackerman and Luka Ackerman of Longmont, CO, nieces Katie Southerland and Victoria Satterwhite, nephews Will Southerland, Cody Benton, and Hunter Satterwhite, as well as many other extended family members and friends who loved and will miss her dearly. She is predeceased by her parents Walter Hamille and Mary Elizabeth Satterwhite, as well as her brother Walt Satterwhite, Jr.
Jean will be interred at Oakdale Cemetery in Wilmington, NC and a Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of Flowers, friends may memorialize Jean with a donation to one of the following local organizations: New Hanover County Rabbit Rescue or the New Hanover County Humane Society.
