Margaret (Peggy) Ridaught Russell

Margaret (Peggy) Ridaught Russell, age 88, of Wilmington, passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at the Cypress Pointe Rehabilitation Center.

She was born on July 28, 1930, in Wilmington, the daughter of Maurice T. Ridaught and Gladys Burry Ridaught.

Peggy worked for many years as a sales clerk for the Maxway company.

She is survived by her children: Karen, Rosemary, Mark and Matthew, grandchildren: Robbie, Camille and Kyle, and great grandchildren: Jasmine, Charlotte and Bresson, whom they affectionately called Peg-Peg.

Together with her parents she was predeceased by her sister Betty Jane.

Peggy enjoyed gardening and was very pleased with the many flowers she would grow. She was very fond of animals especially cats and enjoyed the company of her many cats.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the nurses and aides at Cypress Pointe for the care they provided to her.

In lieu of flowers donations made to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice or a charity of your choosing in memory of Peggy would be greatly appreciated.

A family service to celebrate Peggy’s life will be held at a later date.
