Marianne Elizabeth Stamper Widenhouse 76, of Wilmington passed away Sunday July 29, 2012 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCareCenter.

Marianne was born January 21, 1936 in Lynchburg, VA the daughter of the late Henry Claude and Pauline Franklin Stamper. She was a retired Medical Transcriptionist.

Surviving are her sons Gary Widenhouse and wife Sherry, Alex Widenhouse and wife Christie of Monroe, Chris Widenhouse and wife Tammy of Clarksville, OH, Ashley Widenhouse and wife Kelly of Wilmington. Ten grandchildren, Madison, Keaton, Sydney, Alex, Alexis, Carissa, Christopher, Delaney, Blake, and Brynn.

The family will see friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday July 31, 2012 at Wilmington Funeral Chapel.

Graveside funeral service will be conducted 11:00 AM Wednesday August 1, 2012 at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Ruth Murray will officiate the service.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the Doctors and caregivers at the Hospice LifeCareCenter, and would like memorials to be directed to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1414 Physicians Drive Wilmington, NC. 28401.

I always thought you guys looked so much like your dad, but now that I have seen the picture of your mom, I may have to change my opinion. Guys, I never met Ashley, but, as a Windenhouse brother, he,too, will be in my prayers in the coming days.
