Marilyn Crouch Carter, 88, died on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. She was born on February 14, 1925 in Carlinville, Illinois to the late Melvin
and Ava Lair Crouch.
There will be gathering at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 26th to memorialize Marilyn with close friends and family at Wilmington Funeral Chapel.
Marilyn married her husband of 59 years, Gerard T. Carter on July 27, 1944 until his death in April of 2003. She taught elementary school for over 25 years. Once retired, she traveled to many places and loved to play bridge. A few of her favorite hobbies included gardening and cooking.
Surviving Mrs. Carter are her son, Terrence Carter of Leland and daughter, Carol Phillips of Woodbridge, Va.; grandchildren, Anna, Matthew, Melissa, Sarah, and Jon; and great-grandchildren, Carter, Tinley, Chase, Brandon, Adam and Jake.
