Marilyn Fischer, age 91, of Wilmington, formerly of Riverhead, NY, passed away on Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at the Morningside of Wilmington Healthcare facility.

She was born on January 28, 1927 in Manhattan, NY, the daughter of Theodore and Ida Ambrose.

Marilyn is survived by her son Paul Fischer and his wife Debra; grandchildren Paul and Alexandria Fischer and four great grandchildren.

Together with her parents she was predeceased by her husband Paul Fischer.

Inurnment is to be in Calverton National Cemetery, Long Island, NY.

    I, also, live at Morningside. Often, I would go over to Mrs. Fischer’s hall and find her sitting, visitingbeside the Med Cart. She always had the most striking smile on her face. I have a little Pappillon dog that rides in my lap ( I use a wheelchair). Your mother would light up up like a Christmas tree when she saw my little dog. We would then chat and laugh. If per chance my dog was not with me, your mother would straight away ask where she was. I will miss your mom-her laugh - her bright personality - but especially her gorgeous smile!

    My mother was also survived by her son, Jeffrey Fischer-Smith (me) and his husband, Michael. We spoke every Sunday - religiously. I loved our conversations. I don't have the proper words to express the feeling of loss. She was a wonderful mother and was loved by this son.
