Marilyn Louise Brooks 67, of Wilmington died Sunday April 10, 2011 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCareCenter with her loving family by her side.

Marilyn was born March 19, 1944 the daughter of the late Lawrence and Marjory Moody Tolman. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 45 years Raymond Edmund Brooks, Jr.

Surviving are her children Raymond E. Brooks III of Wilmington, Patricia Brooks of Lincoln NE, April Craft and husband George of Morehead City, grandchildren Erin and Spenser Craft.

She also leaves behind her sister Diane Peritore and husband Fred of East Setauket, NY, and brother Stephen Tolman and wife Cindy of Vernon, CT.

A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 AM Thursday, April 14, 2011 at Wilmington Funeral & Cremation Chapel. The family will see friends Wednesday Evening from 6 until 8:00 PM at the Wilmington Funeral and Cremation chapel. Family and friends are invited to celebrate her life and share their favorite memories.

    Raymond, Patty and April, Please know that trouble will not last always. Joy will come in the morning. We joyfully remember Marilyn teaching our kids to swim and nurtuting them and other kids. She will be missed, but know that although you, relatives and friends love her, God loves her more.
