Mario Kintanar Flores 91, passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at his home.

He was predeceased by his parents Adriano and Leona Flores; 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years Veronica Flores; sister Fely Zamora, Cora Board; brother Manny Flores; special niece and nephew Suzzette Del Rosario, Eduardo Flores and many other nieces and nephews.

Mario was accepted into the US Navy at the age of 21 in the Philippines and continued to serve until retiring after 20 years. He worked on numerous submarines during his time in the Navy. After retirement he worked at Sunny Point as a Security Officer for 15 years. He had a passion for electronics and was a “Jack of all Trades”, a true handyman.

Mario was a devoted parishioner of Basilica Shrine of Saint Mary serving as usher for Saturday Mass. He was also in the Knights of Columbus. One of his proud accomplishments was being an Alumni of Ateno University of Davao in the Philippines and watching his grandkids grow.

He will be forever missed by his fur babies Mia, Tuxedo, Olivia and Ginger.

There will be a funeral mass 11am Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Basilica Shrine of Saint Mary, 412 Ann Street Wilmington NC 28401.
