Marjorie Jean Olsen, New Jersey, 89, died Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law in Wilmington, North Carolina. She was born to Ward Clement Joder and Ruth Inez Joder in Alliance, NE on September 27, 1922. In addition to her parents Marjorie was predeceased by her husband of 37 years, Charles Stanley Olsen, New Jersey, her brother Russell Joder, Fort Collins, Colorado and grandson Christopher Wendell Bloom, Little Silver, New Jersey.
Surviving are her daughter Sandra J. Bloom and son-in-law, Michael D. Bloom with whom she lived in Wilmington, North Carolina, grandchildren Michael Troy and his wife Robin Bloom of Spencer, West Virginia and Carrie Denise and her husband John Giles of Eatontown, New Jersey, her sister Louise Betz, brother Tom Joder and his wife Janice of Nebraska, brother Joe Joder and his wife Dorothy of California, sister-in-law Beth Joder of Colorado, eight great grandchildren; Thomas Giles, Brianna and Christopher Bloom, Rebecka and Patrisha Bloom, all of New Jersey, Colleen and Hunter Bloom, of Spencer, West Virginia, Blake Bloom of Marion, Ohio, and several nieces and nephews.
Marjorie worked for Red Bank Youth Center, in Red Bank, New Jersey, a children’s clothing store, for 30+ years as manager and buyer. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and great grandmother and friend. She was an avid quilter, seamstress and reader.
A memorial service will be held at the Embury Methodist Church, Church Street, Little Silver, NJ on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at 10:30 am.
Marjorie has requested that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the A.S.P.C.A., 260 Wall Street, Eatontown, NJ 07724 or to your local Humane Society.
