Mark and I met at Social Services and became very good friends. He was so funny and had such a quick wit. During that time, we had lots of adventures. I remember when he hurt his knee just running to answer the telephone. He was an amazing cook. I had my first Chinese food with him. I bought my first house around the corner from his house, and he came over and helped put in a ceramic floor in the kitchen . When I was moving away in the mid 90's, he came to my moving / yard sale and stayed with me all day. We stayed in touch for years, but had unfortunately lost touch in the last few. I am so sad to hear of his illness and passing. Peace be with his mom and sisters and loved ones. Mark, I will always remember our times together with love and smiles. You were unique in this world!

I used to fly with Mark and he was such a funny guy. A delight to work with, given the long and crazy hours an airline crew must deal with. I remember one time he went on some kind of diet where you weren't supposed to eat anything but fruit before 10AM. He carried a large bag of fresh fruit with him on a 4-day trip and we used to kid him about being able to easily spot him on the airplane and in the airport by all the little fruit flies in a cluster around him. Loved his brilliant smile and concern for others. He will be missed here in ILM.

Mark's smile could light up a room or an airplane~ I loved knowing him and enjoyed that we both shared the same last name and sometimes wondering whether we were distantly related. I heard the sad news of his passing and regret not knowing of his illness. What a joy to know Mark, a gentle soul with a big heart. My deepest sympathies to his loving family.
