Martha M. Wolfe 82, of Wilmington passed away Sunday November 27, 2011 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCareCenter.

Jo was born in Wilmington on May 28, 1929 the daughter of the late George and Nellie Watson McPherson. She was lucky to have spent her early years growing up in Carolina Beach.

She was the widow of Paul P. Wolfe, Sr., and was also preceded in death by her children Martha J. Wolfe, Barry L. Wolfe, Paul “Zeke” Wolfe, Jr., and Frank J. Wolfe.

Surviving are Gale W. Greene and husband Tom of Boone, Susan W. Stevenson, Sandra W. Rhodes and husband Wayne of Wilmington, eleven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and a number of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Her passion in life was her family and she loved telling and retelling stories of family events. She was a wonderful mother and matriarch to her family.

A graveside funeral service will be conducted 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at Oleander Memorial Gardens. The Reverend John Stamey will officiate the service.

The family is grateful for the wonderful care she received from her doctor Leo Warshauer as well as the staff at NHRMC and the staff at Lower Cape Fear Hospice.

May she find comfort and joy in God’s loving arms.
