Mary Cecelia (Wirth) Hardin, 76, of Rocky Point, passed away on March 6th, 2023, at Lower Cape Fear Life Care Hospice. Cecelia was born August 12th, 1946, in Scranton, PA to the late Robert and Helen Wirth. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Robert Wirth.
Cecelia is survived by her husband, Tony Hardin; two sons, Leonard Hardin, Jr, and John Hardin (Amelia); sister, Barbara Wells; four grandchildren, Christopher Evans, Wesley Hardin, John Grady Hardin, and Fia Hardin; great-grandchild, Winter Evans.
Cecelia was a great example of living life to the fullest. Her life was about joy- finding it, treasuring it, and spreading it. She enjoyed growing strawberries and blueberries with her family, planting flowers, fishing, water skiing, and singing songs. When she is not outside enjoying the outdoors, she could be inside cooking and baking. Cecelia loved spending time with her family, including her grandchildren and great grandchild whom she would often spoil rotten. She will be remembered by all those she loved.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday March 11, 2023 at 11:00 AM with visitation starting at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 11th, 2023, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church located at 4849 Castle Hayne Rd, Castle Hayne, NC 28429. Officiating will be Father Roger Nyimi. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
