Mary Elizabeth Whitton, age 74 from Kure Beach, NC, passed away on August 8, 2021 in Wilmington, NC.

Mary was born on November 28, 1946 in Fort George Mead, MD to the late James Richmond and Margaret Eleanor Whitton.

Mary spent the latter years of her life as a Clinical Research Nurse. She also did Practical Nursing and home healthcare. She was an avid dog lover, rescuing several of her own.

Mary is survived by her daughter JoJo Whitton, son Jerrod Whitton, and brothers Jim Whitton and John Whitton (Teresa DeShields), John whom is Mary’s twin. In addition to her parents, Mary is predeceased by her sisters Suzy Liss and Margaret Whitton.

There is no visitation or service planned at this time.

    Extending my deepest sympathy to MaryBeth’s children and brothers. I loved MaryBeth and learned so much from her about Nursing and life in general. She was a selfless and caring person, always doing for others, and she loved her children and her dogs. I feel so blessed to have known MaryBeth and to have been her friend for over 45+ years. I will miss her.
