Mary Ellen Parrish, 75 of Wilmington passed away Thursday, December 8, 2011.

She was born in Rocky Point, NC on December 13, 1935.Her parents were Samuel D. Webb and Pauline Dusenbury Webb.

She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and was retired from Bell South with 35 years of service and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, William J. Parrish; five children, Freda A. Parrish, Anita P. Costin (B.C.), Billie P. Zakis, William Eugene Parrish, Hampton W. Parrish (Nancy); eight grandchildren and one great grandchild; sisters, Myrtle Bauguess, Martha Rae Frye, Sheila Bell; brothers, S.D. Webb, Don Webb, Pete Webb and Roland Webb.

A memorial service will be held 2 pm Monday, December 12, 2011 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 500 Kenwood Ave., Wilmington,NC 28405 officiated by David D. McDonald, Sr., DMIN. and Dr. Roger Horne.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to National Kidney Foudation Serving the Carolinas North Carolina Region

    It is a sad day knowing that Mrs. Parrish is now not with us. It is a blessed day in heaven knowing she is there. Mrs. Parrish was the sweetest and happiest person I have ever known. I will miss her but I have been blessed just knowing her.
