Mary Helen McMorrough Van Vlack, age 79, a longtime resident of Kelly, NC passed away Thursday, November 8, 2018, at Silver Stream Nursing Care Center in Wilmington.
She was born in Natchez, Mississippi on May 11, 1939 to Homer Flournoy and Emma Beneditine Flournoy.
Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. After raising her children she became a Sales Clerk at Belk Department Store.
Mary is survived by her husband Stanley Henry Van Vlack; children Bruce McMorrough, Donna Robinson, and Gayle McMorrough; grandchildren, Ashley Robinson, William Robinson, and Emma Page; great grandchild, Makayla Robinson; two sisters, Dorothy Strickland and Betty Shannon; and one brother Willard Flournoy. Those who preceded her in death were her first husband Bert McMorrough who was a proud veteran of the US Air Force and father of her children, and a brother Homer Flournoy, Jr.
Memorial services will be planned for a later time in Natchez, MS where she will be placed with her family.
