Memorial Gifts & Donations

Mary “Louise” Hines of Wilmington, began her journey of a lifetime on Sunday September 4, 2011 . This trip far surpasses any travel that she has ever taken and those of us that loved her so…celebrate this amazing adventure with her! “Louise” prepared for this trip every single day that she was on this earth and she is so thankful that this time, she didn’t have to pack any luggage .

Awaiting for “Louise” upon her arrival are those that proceeded her in death. Her adoring husband Garland Henry Hines, loving son Norman Garland Hines, her big brother Henry Cicero Merritt, wonderful parents Mary Esther Marshburn Merritt and Norman Chestnut Merritt are all prepared to meet her at her final destination.

Since Louise had to depart immediately, she was unable to take along her two “dedicated travel partner’s” daughter-in-law Frankie Louise Hines and granddaughter Brenda Louise Hines . Also surviving and sitting this trip out are grandson Norman Garland Hines, Jr. and his wife Michelle; son Rev. James Hines and wife Jean; grandsons Jimmy Hines and wife Denise; Randy Hines and wife Kelley, granddaughter Gina Leadman; 10 great-grand children, 3 great-great grand children; and little sister Margaret “Bob” Stanley. Also sister-in-law Edna Merritt and future grand-son-in-law Paul Peterson.

Louise was an exceptional grandma with an amazing love for her family. She offered gentle touch that could comfort any amount of pain, and a heart that was always open for anyone who wanted to enter. Louise was a generous woman that worked hard all her life. Her favorite job was working at Bruce’s Drive-in Restaurant well into her 80’s so she could support her love of travel. She had the opportunity to experience the entire USA and numerous cruises along the way. Louise was a member of the following; The Order Of the Eastern Star, Golden Rod Chapter #142 with dual membership at Federal Point Chapter # 361, Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church.

Geraldine Kepley, a heart felt thank you is extended to you for the dedication and love that you showed.
A special “Thank You” is sent out to the amazing staff at Silver Stream Health and Rehabilitation Center for the care you provided, too many names to mention, (Kim & Cindy God Bless you!) Lower Cape Fear Hospice for helping Louise pass with dignity and pain-free.

Memorial contributions may be made to Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, “Stephen Minister Program” 1401 South College Rd. Wilm NC 28401

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Wednesday September 7, 2011 at Wilmington Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Oakdale cemetery.
