I met Maryann in 1999 when she invited me to come to Wilmington, NC, to give Zen meditation instruction. I found her to be a sincere person and a wonderful artist. She and her husband warmly invited me into their home when I began visiting Wilmington more often. I am grateful to have known Maryann. May she find freedom.
