So sorry for your loss. Matt was a dear friend and always willing to help me with home improvement issues. He was very talented and a perfectionist in his trade. I will miss seeing him at gatherings on the island. I hope he is at peace.

Matt was a good friend and someone who went out of his way to help others and to make things right. He helped me immensely as I worked to sell my house in Cary and move to Carolina Beach. His knowledge and expertise made him the go-to guy for so many projects and he was always eager to help.
Matt’s spirit was undeniable. He was concerned with others and how they were doing and always took time to send a message of good vibes and positivity. I will miss his enthusiasm and his willingness to help others. I hope he has found peace and knows how loved he was by those he left behind.

Matt and I cleaned 3 beach houses together as guests departed. The first thing I checked was to see if any alcohol was left behind and if so - cheers to a great morning. Matt and I had no problem cracking a cold brew open on an early Sunday. We both liked to listen to music - loud music - so he plugged in his speaker and I put serius radio on and we listened to Hair Nation - all 80’s rock music while we worked. Matt was always so kind and liked my snake or weird bug stories and topped them with pictures of his own. He loved his conspiracy theories about the government and often sent the websites so me. I will miss him - never did he have anything negative to say- just kept on plugging away. We lost a super great guy.

Matt was a close friend and we spoke, text, and/or got together several times each week. We worked on projects together, drank beer together, sat on the beach together, and celebrated his last birthday at our house on the Sunday before Labor Day.
He help me with our rental properties, our business office, and our house. Matt’s unique skill set was a huge help to us because he was a “man of many talents” when it came to the construction trade.
He was an accomplished carpenter, electrician, plumber, and HVAC tech. There was hardly anything he would not tackle.
Matt was concerned about the environment and was an avid recycler of materials and energy.
Most of all he was concerned about people and sought to help anyone in need. His concerns for the community were specific in terms of taking action to help anyone who he knew needed assistance.
He had aches and pain from an early career as a BMX bicycle competitor and struggled from time to time with his own health issues. He was concerned about how I was feeling and would send text messages telling me that he was sending “good healthy vibes” and “feel better” karma all the time.
He believed in the spirit of individuals and wanted nothing but positivity for the general population and especially for those he knew.
I hope and pray his spirit is free and finding peace in his new dimension.
We love Matt, miss him terribly, and look forward to sharing with him again in the next life.
