Mattie Joyce Hinton, 76, of Hampstead went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCareCenter in Wilmington, NC.

Born in Johnston County in 1935, her parents were the late Albert Crumpler and Lecta Batten Crumpler.

Joyce is survived by her significant other, Charles Padernacht; children, Diane Little of Wilmington, NC, Teresa Satorre and husband, Jimmy, of Burgaw, NC and Jack Holt Hinton, Jr. and wife, Darlene, of Burgaw, NC; brothers, Billy Crumpler of Rosewood, NC and Darwin Crumpler of Selma, NC; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm on Monday, March 19, 2012 at Wilmington Funeral Chapel.

The Funeral Ceremony will be held Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at 4 PM in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home, 1351 Pollock Street, Selma, NC 27576. Interment will follow in Princeton Cemetery, Princeton, NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401.

    This morning on a trail in portersneck plantation Trey asked if we could pray for his sick nanna who was going to heaven and his so sad pappa Jack. Right there we knelt down together and prayed for you guys. Threw the mouths of babes. I hope this helps at this time because I know nothing much else does. We loved your mom she was a wonderful woman.

    To The Hinton Family: I was sad to read of Joyce's death. I thought about her often, but didn't stay in touch. We were friends when I worked at NCNB/Nationsbank. We always had so much fun. I also knew your father,I went to his funeral. I remember this guy singing at the funeral. Guys, you had special parents. I pray they are together up in Heaven, they loved each other so much....God bless you
