    John Apanites says:
Although I was not Michael’s cousin by blood, you would never have known it. He treated me so well and was so generous to me with all his time, interests and talents. He shared his great collection of comic books with me. He would show me his models and explain all the details of his painting and assembly. He gave me his slot car/train set all perfectly mounted to a large table and laid out in a great pattern. He let me listen to his vinyl of Pink Floyd and ELO. He even gave me his weight set when he was going off to the Navy, so that I could begin to get in shape. It is hard for me to express the influence his genuine enthusiasm and sharing had on me. His passing is so very sad. I will keep his family and friends in my thoughts and prayers
