Michael (aka) Mike passed away peacefully in the tender care of the doctors, nurses, care givers, and staff of Lower Cape Fear Hospice, Wilmington, NC
Mike was born in County Mayo, Ireland to John Gaynor (deceased) & Patricia Gaynor
1992 – 2019 Mike lived and worked in Sunnyside, NY.
On Dec 2019 Mike visited close friends in Wilmington NC, where he was hospitalized at New Hanover Medical Center, he battled a serious disability and overcame some enormous obstacles, his wish was to travel to his home country Ireland to be close to his family and friends, during his time in Wilmington he thrived with the aid from his close friends and nurse’s that he deeply loved.
Sadly missed by his heartbroken family, his loving mother Patricia (Patty) Gaynor, brothers Sean, Tom (Ballinrobe, Mayo), Noel (Queens, NY) & Oliver (Woodford Green, Essex UK) sisters Mary Gaynor-Snype (Strokestown, Roscommon), Anne (San Antonio, Texas) & Teresa (Ballinrobe, Mayo). Brother in-law Michael Snype, sister in-laws Ruth & Martina. Nephews John, Lorcan, Padraig & Sean. Nieces, Abby & Aine, many cousin’s and extended family and his wide circle of friends.
Predeceased by his father John (1980) brother Frank (1997) sister Margaret Joan (1964)
May his gentle soul rest in heavenly peace.
There are no services planned at this time.
Cremation is private. Funeral mass will be offered (dates pending) at;
