Michael “Mickey” Allen Champion sadly passed away at his home at the age of 72 on April the 8th, 2022.

Mickey was born on October 15, 1949 to the late Lamar and Ellen Champion in Lawndale, NC.

Mickey is survived by his loving wife Jeanne Champion, his son Kyle Champion (Melonee Perron), his sister Marla Lowder, brother Monty Champion (Nancy), and his 2 grandchildren Lawson and Palmer. In addition to both his aforementioned parents, he is predeceased by his daughter Nancy Champion, his sister Melanie Champion, and his brother-in-law Jake.

    Jeanne and family, I am so very sorry to hear this news. Mickey and I talked on the phone weekly, and I had just spoken to him a day or two before his passing. Mickey was a great person and a great friend, and I am proud to have known him. The great news is that Mickey was a believer, and now he is reunited with his daughter Nancy who he missed dearly and talked about every time we spoke. I'm sad and depressed Mickey is gone from this world but very happy he is now with God.
