Michael J. Hunter, affectionately known as “Mike”, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2024, in Wilmington, NC, at the age of 63. Born on September 8, 1960, at Tachikawa AFB, Japan, Mike lived a life filled with warmth, dedication, and a relentless spirit.

As a diligent motorcycle salesman for Pirate Ship Power Sports, Mike had an unwavering passion for his work. Whether he was sharing his knowledge about motorcycles or helping customers find their perfect ride, Mike’s commitment to excellence was always evident. His professional journey was marked by his hardworking nature and his ability to connect with people from all walks of life.

Outside of his work, Mike found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved to go fishing, finding peace and tranquility in the still waters and the thrill of the catch. Sundays held a special place in his heart as he embarked on his ritual visits to Home Depot and Lowe’s, a tradition that reflected his love for home improvement and building lasting memories.

Above all, Mike cherished his family, friends, and his beloved dogs. His devotion to his wife Barbara Coleman was unwavering, and he took immense pride in his daughters Ashleigh Hunter Avery and her husband Gerald of Studio City, CA, Brittany Hunter Winn of Corpus Christi, TX, stepson Christopher Sollars and his wife Jesica of Leland, and stepdaughter Kymberly Ray and her husband Joseph of Wallace. His four grandchildren brought him boundless joy, and he held a deep bond with his mother Hiroko Hunter of Leland and sister Joann Hunter and her husband Brian Ronan of New York City, NY.

Funeral Arrangements entrusted to Wilmington Funeral & Cremation – Leland Chapel. Please leave online condolences for Mike’s family on his Tribute Wall at www.wilmingtoncares.com.
