Michael Richard Barnhill,45, of Castle Hayne, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, October 16, 2018.

Born in New Hanover County, July 20, 1973, a son of Darline Hilby Aman and the late Daniel David Barnhill, he was a lifelong resident who had been employed in law enforcement.

Besides his mother, Darline, he is survived by his step-father, Dennis Aman; his sister, Carol Kennedy and her husband Ronnie; his brothers, Daniel Barnhill and Dennis W. Aman, several nieces and nephews, and close friends, Amanda Greene and Brian Matthews.

His family will receive relatives and friends 5 p.m. on Thursday, October 18, 2018 in the Kennedy family home at 1623 Kennedy Road in Wilmington.

    I'm heart broken. Mike was such a good man. He was one of the most genuine and sincere guys you could ever meet. He always put others before himself. He was kind, humble, and had such a wonderful laugh. Mike lived for the service of others and he deserved more out of life.
