Michael Richard Lewis departed for an extended fishing trip with the angels on January 24, 2015.

Michael was born in Biloxi, Mississippi on January 31, 1952. He moved to Wilmington, NC in 1967 and resided there for the rest of his adult life.

Michael was quite a historian and loved collecting Civil War items and historical artifacts. He enjoyed fishing at the Cape Fear waterfront by his residence at Soloman Towers.

Michael is survived by his sister, Sharon (Lewis) Davis, brother-in-law, Michael Davis, nephew, Jason Davis, a neice, Jessica Davis Embler, (Sean Embler), and their children Justin and Carson Embler. Michael had a host of friends including special friends Sue Ingram and Wanda Thorpe.

A celebration of Mike’s life will be held at his favorite spot at the Cape Fear River, at a later date to be announced on facebook.
