Michael Stuart Marantz

Michael Stuart Marantz was born on January 4, 1941 in Washington, DC to Miriam and Irving Marantz. He was drafted into the United States Army in November 1963 and served his Country honorably and faithfully as an instructor at the Army’s Signal Corp school at Ft. Gordon, GA.

After his military service he continued his career in communications working for multiple television stations in the DC area as an Engineer. He retired in July 2017 after a 52- year career with the Fox affiliate WTTG in Washington, DC. In retirement Mike enjoyed relaxing on his front porch while reading a good book. Mike passed away on May 18, 2023 after a brief battle with cancer.

He survived by his loving wife of 57 years Sandra. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Mike’s name to the American Cancer Society.

Funeral services will be 12 noon,  Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at Coastal Carolina Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, NC.
