    Dear Ken, Bill and The Curry Family, We cherish the growing up days when Mike, Bill, Ken, myself and the Wrightsville Originals crew surfed the billows on Old Wrightsville. As we age, what do we really have to cling to besides our faith, and our memories? Luke's account of a ship wreck on the coast of Malta in The Acts of the Apostles, Circa 60 AD (Chapter 27, Verses 41 to 44), when those who were unable to swim were able to survive by clinging onto timber planks. And we shall survive, as our faith rescues us and our planks float us, when the breakers roar and the reef is near. Now Mike's at rest on the heavenly shore, his life's storms are passed forevermore. The Fergus - Funderburg Families are deeply saddened by the loss of your loved one. Protect those in whose love we live and those who are dear to us. May peace and comfort be with you.     I will always remember Michael with great fondness. He was one of my "big brothers" of the surfing community when we were kids, and was a wonderful and caring friend. My heart goes out to his family.

    My husband Billy and I have known Mike since we were kids. We live in TN now and just heard about Mike's death. Our deepest sympathies to his family and friends. We will remember him with love and friendship.
