Mildred “Mickey” Lewis Curley 89, of Wilmington died Wednesday May 8, 2013 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCareCenter.

Mickey was born in Southport December 4, 1923 the daughter of the late George Graydon and Clossie Edwards Lewis. Preceding her in death were her husband Thomas Curley and a son Wayne Gamley. She was a registered nurse all her life, having worked at Cape Fear Memorial Hospital, New Hanover County Schools, Davis Nursing Center, and then Wilmington Treatment Center. She then retired from private duty nursing at age 87. She was a member of Oak Grove Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are a son Tom Curley, daughters Lynda Gainey and husband Mickey, Dianne Wilson and husband Ray all of Wilmington. Nine Grandchildren, Twelve great-grandchildren.

Memorial service will be conducted 7:00 PM Saturday May 11, 2013 at Wilmington Funeral Chapel. Reverend Harold Manning will officiate the service. A reception will follow the service where the family will see friends. The family will be at the home of her son Tom Curley 202 Windchime Drive at all other times.
