Mindi Kristine Forbes Grissom, 42, of Wilmington, stepped into the loving arms of her Savior on December 25, 2021.

Mindi loved to sing and could often be heard singing “What a Day That Will Be When My Jesus I Shall See” in a confident, faith-filled voice. On Christmas evening, it was HER day, and her faith became a reality. She finally saw The One she sang about for years face-to-face.

Born in Spruce Pine, NC on January 8, 1979. Known for her contagious smile and laughter, Mindi will always be remembered as one who loved with everything she had. She was the epitome of a true mountain girl who loved her Wranglers & boots, canning, and yelling “Go Rocky Top!”.
Mindi often cooked for her family as a way of showing them her love. Her baked mac n cheese, Scott’s favorite mashed potatoes, and Mandy’s special milkshakes are memories that we will all cherish and think on with a smile.

Mindi is survived by her husband of 16 years, Scott Grissom, and daughter MyKenna Grissom of the home and daughter Morgan Grissom of Fenton, MO. Mindi was the daughter of Tom & Vanessa Redish of China Grove, and Jerry Forbes of Spruce Pine. Other survivors include her siblings; Brandi Laws (Matt), Jeremy Forbes (Randi Jo), Mandy Redish, Kevin Redish (Brandy), & Chasidy Forbes along with a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

Revelation 21:10: “And He carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain”. Go rest high on that mountain, Mimi. Your work on Earth is done, it is well.

A Celebration of Life will be held on her birthday, Saturday, January 8th, 2022 at 11:00am, at the Frank H. Kenan Chapel at Landfall, 510 Arboretum Dr, Wilmington, NC 28405.
