Minnie Lee Scarlett, age 83, of Wilmington passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2014.

Minnie Lee was born March 26, 1931 in Alamance County, NC the daughter of the late Grover Lee and Sybil Walker Hooks.

She was preceded in death by her husband David Vernon Scarlett, brother Grover Lee Hooks, Jr., and sister Margaret Hooks Dudley.

Surviving are her daughter Patricia Scarlett-Rafferty and her husband Gary Rafferty of Wilmington, a grandson Jay Price and great grand daughters Kaitlyn and Sarah Price of Raleigh; and many nieces and nephews

Until her retirement Minnie was a longtime devoted employee of First Citizens Bank. Her smiling face and friendly demeanor were a welcome treat to all she encountered. She mostly enjoyed the simple pleasures of talking and spending time with her family and friends. Her loving gestures and brilliant wit will be greatly missed
