Miriam Rose Larson Amerson went home to be with her heavenly father on Monday June 13, 2011 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCareCenter.

She was born to James Lawrence Larson Sr and Ethel Louise Allen Larson on March 22, 1930.

She was dedicated to her personal Lord and savior Jesus Christ. By example you saw Christ living in her daily. With a kind word and smile for everyone. Her home was always open to family and friends, as well as anyone who needed a place to stay. Having raised her children, numerous nieces, nephews and foster children; having taught the three year old Sunday school class at Winter Park Baptist Church for over 40 years.She was truly a gift from God as a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother (nannie) and friend.

She is survived by and was married to Clyde Amerson Jr. of Lamar, South Carolina on May 7, 1948, having celebrated 63 years together.

They have five children, daughter, Kathy Carter (Bud) of Wallace, NC, son, Clyde Alan Amerson, Sr, (Barbara) of Wilmington, NC , daughter, Brenda White Johnston, (deceased) , daughter, Jackie Bowden (Jim) of Currie, NC and daughter, Sharon Amerson of Carolina Beach, NC

Ten grandchildren, Eddie Higgins, Jimmy Higgins (deceased) , Jonathan White, Becky Amerson, Alan Amerson, Allison Wescott, Angie Lee, Leigh-Ann Hodges, Ashley Wescott, and Elizabeth Hewitt

Fifteen great grandchildren: Beth Higgins Jones, Ethane Sullivan, Brooke Wescott, Gabriel White, Shawn Lee, Andrew Lee, Jacob Hodges, Joshua Higgins, Calab Hodges, Jayden White, Brooklynn Amerson, Grace Lynn Amerson , Gavin Kerr, Faith Lynn Amerson, and Mya Annalee Wescott,

She is also survived by sisters, Mary Gifford and Julie Mishack and several nieces, nephews, cousins and Aunt Lola Larson of Wallace, N.C.

Pallbearers: Grandson’s , Eddie Higgins, Jonathan White, Alan Amerson, Ashley Wescott, in-laws Bubba Lee and Randall Hewitt. Nephews, Larry Larson , Pat Larson and George Gifford will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Visitation will be held at Wilmington Funeral Chapel Wednesday, June 15 from 6 PM until 8 pm, and where a Celebration of Life service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, June 16, 2011 in the Chapel. Interment will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Services will be conducted by the Reverend Randall Smith, nephew, and pastor of Castle Hayne Advent Christian Church.
