Memorial Gifts & Donations

Monika Ann Eggeling, age 27 of Wilmington, NC, sadly passed away at her home, much too soon, on April the 4th of 2022.

Monika was born on May 6, 1994 in Latrobe, PA to Hans and Loretta Eggeling.

Monika was a shy, quiet person, but was incredibly compassionate and cared for people and animals alike; sometimes more than she cared for herself. Though, Monika was known to keep up with her hair, makeup, and nails. This also led to her brief pursuit in Cosmetology school. Monika just simply loved life. She was a little girl at heart, as can be seen by her extensive stuffed animal collection. She loved the beach and laying out for a nice tan. She also enjoyed being with her family and friends. Family was incredibly important to her and she had a very close relationship with her parents. She had a big smile that could light up any room she walked into. She will be incredibly missed by all that knew and loved her.

Monika’s parents have asked that a special song, I Wish It Would Rain by The Temptations, be linked here in memory of her.

Monika is survived by her loving parents Hans and Loretta Eggeling, her brother Ryan John Eggeling, and many other extended family members and friends. She is predeceased by her maternal grandmother Pauline Fitzgerald and her paternal grandfather Wolfgang Eggeling.

There is a Celebration of Life for Monika on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 11:00am at Wilmington Funeral & Cremation – Wilmington Chapel. All are welcome to attend.

Monika’s parents have also started a fundraiser to have a special memorial garden constructed in Monika’s memory at the Arboretum in Wilmington, NC. This can be found at the Treasured Memories fundraiser link here. All proceeds will go toward a place for Monika’s family and friends to visit and honor her memory.
