Monty Davis Rackley, 63, of Belville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 25, 2018 in the Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCenter in Wilmington after a long battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Marilyn Bailey Rackley.

Born in Burgaw, March 4, 1955, a son of the late Louis Herbert and Dorothy Davis Rackley, he had worked in the maintenance department at Belk’s Department Stores for over 23 years until his retirement. He loved gardening and shooting pool, and playing cards,  and was a great Paw-Paw to his grandchildren.

Besides his wife, Marilyn, he is survived by his daughters, Tiffany Griffin of Wilmington and Brandy Northam of Leland; his grandchildren, Layton and Colton Griffin, and Kaylee and Wesley Northam; his sisters, Marilyn G. Rackley and Judy Singleton; his brother, Carl Rackley, his step sister, Sissy Orr, step brother, Billy Benton, and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial gathering will be on Wednesday March 28, 2018 from 6 to 8 pm at his daughters home, 1061 Slater Way Leland, NC 28451
