Morris Charles Dyckman, Jr. age 78 of the Town Creek Community in Winnabow passed away Saturday, October 15, 2016 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCareCenter.
He was born on February 12, 1938 and grew up in Cape Charles, VA. He was preceded in death by his parents Maurice Dyckman and Elinor Gladden Dyckman.
Charles was a proud 20 year veteran of the US Coast Guard retiring with the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 2. After his Coast Guard retirement, he worked for CP&L/Progress Energy until retirement. He was a proud member of Peace Memorial Baptist Church in Winnabow, Pythagoras Lodge # 249 AF&AM, Brunswick Chapter # 341 Order of Eastern Star, Sudan Shrine Center, and the Brunswick County Shrine Club.
He lived his life very generous and kind to everyone he met, exemplifying the great commission to serve the Lord and love his fellowman.
Charles is survived by his wife of 55 years, Annell Elderdice Dyckman; three children, Katherine Neville (Troy) Teresa Hoffman (Mark) and C. Dykman; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren; one brother Reggie Dyckman and other extended family members.
The family will see friends at the visitation on Monday from 6 to 8 pm at Wilmington Funeral Chapel.
Celebration of Life Funeral ceremony will be held 2 pm Tuesday, October 18, 20167 at Peace Memorial Baptist Church, 5811 Ocean Hwy. E, Winnabow, officiated by Rev. Phil Frady and Rev. Doug Fairfax.
Burial will be at the Church Cemetery with Military Honors and Masonic Honors. Pallbearers will be Travis Neville, Cody Neville, Bill Garrett, Michael Watson, Lee Sellers, Dane Sellers and Luke Neville. His casket will be escorted by his special girls, Emma Neville and Gracie Sellers. Honorary pallbearers will be nephews and brother in-laws.
