Mrs. Doris H. Biggerstaff 93, of Wilmington died Monday, October 17, 2016 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCareCenter. She was a former resident of Daytona Beach, FL.

Doris was born in Cumberland County, NC the daughter of the late Irvin Britt and Helen Lopez Hall. She was the widow of James Gilbert Dunnagan, and Lt. Comdr. Navy Retired Paul O. Biggerstaff. Upon meeting Doris you would immediately know her she was 93, drove a mustang and she was a national tennis table champion.

She is survived by her son Gil Dunnagan, with who she has resided with over the past years, her grandson James Dunnagan, III , her granddaughter Laurie Dunnagan Blasi and her husband Fabrizio of Italy, and two great grandchildren Ethan and Taley of West Jefferson, NC.

It was Doris request that services be private.

The family would like to thank the Lower Cape Fear Hospice for their kindness and support and would like memorials to be directed to the hospice foundation 1406 Physicians Drive Wilmington, NC 28401.

    Doris and I were once residents at Holly Tree Independent Retirement Home on Holly Tree Road. She was about the most fun loving lady I ever met. Her sense of humor kept everyone delighted. She will surely be missed.
