Myrtle Gray Lawhorn 77, of Wilmington passed away on the morning on Thursday April 17, 2014 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCareCenter after a long battle of cancer with her loving family at her side.

Myrtle was born in Goldsboro on March 21, 1937 the daughter of the late Archie and Ruth Snipes Holland. She was also preceded in death by her husband Henry Elwood Lawhorn.

Surviving are her four children William and wife Donna, Randy and wife Terry, Charlene and husband Tracy, and Yvonne and husband Gregory, nine grandchildren, sister Ila-Lee Massengill, and dear friend Carl Blanck.

She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and most of all dancing.

The family will be at Wilmington Funeral Chapel on Saturday April 26, 2014 from 1 PM unti 3 PM to see friends.

A special thank you to the entire staff of Lower Cape Fear Hospice for the love and compassion they showed.
