Nancy Kathryn Gill

Nancy Kathryn Gill, age 81, of Wilmington passed away Sunday, September 20, 2015 at the New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

Nancy was born May 11, 1934, in Beckley, West Virginia, the daughter of William Bryant Halsey and Bessie Lee Bauguess Halsey.

She is survived by her husband, Galen E. Gill; Sons, Galen W. Gill, Larry E. Gill and wife Suzanne; Grandchildren, Amanda R. Gill, Galen W. Gill II, Geoffrey R. Gill and wife Sarah, and Spencer P. Gill.

Nancy was a devoted wife of 64 years, a mother, grandmother, and friend.

She was a long standing member of Winter Park Baptist for 30 years where she volunteered for 18 years in the kitchen. She was a member of the Red Hats Society with a Nickname “Duchess of Gifting”. Everyone who knew her loved her baked goods.

The family will receive friends from 10 AM till 11AM, Wednesday, September 23, 2015, at Winter Park Baptist Church, 4700 Wrightsville Ave. Wilmington, NC 28403. A service to celebrate Nancy’s life will follow at 11AM. Interment will be in Oleander Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Galen W. Gill II, Geoffrey R. Gill, Spencer P. Gill, Doug Grainger, Aaron Taylor, and Art Williford.

I am sure if there is anything one of Nancy's many friends can do for you all you need to do is reach out and we will do what ever we can. Nancy will be missed both as a Red Hat sister and as part of our canasta group on Mondays at the senior center.
