Neal Walter Ashcraft, Jr., age 49 of Wilmington passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2014 after a long fight with cancer.

He was born in Wilmington, NC on April 13, 1965.
Neal was a professional Millwright and traveled extensively working at many industrial sites servicing and repairs of industrial equipment. He was very dependable and enjoyed his job.

Neal is survived by his mother, Susan Boggs Reynolds (Jerry); his father, Neal Walter Ashcraft, Sr. (Linda); two brothers, Larry Scott Ashcraft (Rhonda) and Robert Paul DeMello; maternal grandmother Betty Boggs with whom he lived with; niece, Brittanie; nephews, Zack and Dylan, Darren, and Cooper; great nephew Collin. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Walter Pat Boggs; paternal grandparents, Walter and Maie Ashcraft; uncles, Kenny and Sam Boggs.

A Celebration of Life memorial ceremony will be held 7 PM Friday, June 6, 2014 at Wilmington Funeral Chapel with Rev. Hoyt King officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Duke University Medical Center Cancer Research.
